Layout animations do the heavy lifting when animating between two different layouts of your components.

Take a look at the two states of the same component below. On the left is the default layout; on the right is the layout after form submission.

With layout animations, you’re essentially telling Framer Motion: “Here are the two layouts of my component—figure out the best way to animate between them, while keeping it performant.”
